The 122nd Engineer Battalion, based out of Edgefield, SC has recently returned from their deployment to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They will hold a Freedom Salute at Strom Thurmond High School’s Gymnasium, March 9, 2014 at 9:30 am. It is opened to the public and everyone is invited to attend.

A 4.1 magnitude earthquake struck Edgefield County Friday night, February 14, jolting residents in South Carolina, Georgia, North Carolina, and as far away as Alabama, Tennessee and Virginia. Because of the prediction of inclement weather the Edgefield Camellia Tea scheduled for Thursday, February 13th, 2014 has been cancelled. We hope that next year will produce lovely camellia blooms and better weather.
