EDGEFIELD, S. C. – Mr. Robert L. Troll Holmes, Sr., of Jeter Street, entered into rest September 2, 2013. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, September 7, 2013 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses with Thomas Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Sunset Gardens Memorial Park.
Mr. Holmes, a native of Edgefield County, was one of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Survivors include his wife, Janie Freeman Holmes of the home; a daughter, Libby H. (John) Thompson, Aiken, SC; five sons, Ronnie (Sheryl) Holmes, McCormick, SC; Robert L. Holmes, Jr., North Augusta, SC; Tyrone (Martha) Holmes, Aiken, SC; Christopher (Tara) Holmes, Maryland and Steven )Lisa) Holmes, Augusta, Ga.; five sisters, Bennie Ruth Holmes and Delores Drummings, Trenton, SC; Peggy Holmes, North Augusta, SC; Laura Oliphant and Margaret (Johnny) Jackson, Edgefield, SC; three brothers, James Holmes, Washington, DC; Heyward (Catherine) Holmes and Terry (Ola) Holmes, Trenton, SC; sisters-in-law, Lena Bannister, Edgefield, SC and Ruth Freeman, Virginia; brothers-in-law, Eddie (Georgia) Freeman, Edgefield, SC and Johnny (Vurnell) Freeman, North Augusta, SC; 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren; a host of other relatives and friends.
