Phyllis Slocum, former TV anchor with Charley Britt  at Channel 12 CBS and my tennis partner (late 70s and early 80s) visited Monday through Thursday  from Dallas, TX, after not seeing her for five years. She is now a professor of media at  he University of North Texas  The highlight of our trip was going to Edgefield.  We parked near The Grill and walked past the EA office where Phyllis noted that the EA is the oldest  SC newspaper, etc.  Then while she and Avis Lyle shopped at Mercy Me! I visited the Treasure Chest SPCA. Loree Simmons does a great job running the shop and many neat things there plus cats for adoption.  We had a lovely lunch at The Grill as Phyllis enjoyed the fried oysters with her salad; Avis had grilled shrimp on her salad , and I had a chicken salad sandwich and salad.  Delicious!
