The Advertiser received the following release from the Sheriff’s office on Monday, July 22, that on July 18, the Edgefield County Sheriff’s office along with officers from the Edgefield, Johnston and Trenton Police Departments, the Aiken County Sheriff’s office and the State Law Enforcement Divison conducted narcotics raids and warrants sweeps in the county.
A total of 18 people were arrested on the 25 outstanding warrants. Charges include distribution of crack, distribution of methamphetamine, distribution of marijuana, distribution of morphine, armed robbery and the illegal sale of alcohol. The narcotics raids and warrants sweeps was the result of ongoing investigations and undercover operations conduct by the sheriff’s office.
Sheriff Dobey stated: “This operation is just part of our ongoing efforts at the Sheriff’s office to cub the sale and distribution of drugs in Edgefield County and help keep our county safe.
