The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office responded to burglary call at a migrant camp on Mt. Calvary Road in Johnston, Wednesday, June 26. There, deputies discovered at least 8 different transient workers had had varying items stolen from their unlocked quarters while they had been at work. Among the items stolen were laptops, flat screen televisions, an XBOX, cell phones, and multiple items of clothing.
Workers in a nearby field were able to offer a description of a Brown 1980’s model Honda Accord that was seen in the area around the time of the crime. Investigators are using this information and evidence gathered from the scene to continue their investigation into this matter.
