A theft at a home on Henry Lane in Johnston resulted in the loss of items worth over an estimated $8,0000, Tuesday, June 18. According to a report filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the residence and found that by breaking the lock to the front door, thieves were able to enter the home and steal 2 televisions, a video camera, 26 pieces of jewelry, 100 movies and cds, and over $500 in cash. Eyewitnesses were able to provide descriptions of a vehicle seen at the home earlier in the day and of possible suspects in this crime.
Following leads gathered from this incident, the ECSO has arrested one suspect in this theft. He is being charged with Burglary in the 2nd Degree and Grand Larceny. The investigation into this matter is ongoing and more arrests and charges may be forthcoming.
