American legion Auxiliary volunteers will distribute the familiar red, handcrafted Poppies on May 24 and 25 in Edgefield County. This nation-wide program is planned and conducted in memory of the soldiers who gave their lives in the cause of Freedom. It also honors the millions of Americans who have willingly served and those who are now serving their country.
Funds collected on Poppy Days are used to assist the needy veterans and his/her family in the county and in hospitals throughout the area.
Auxiliary members from Edgefield Unit #30 ask the public to pause for a moment, pin on a Poppy, and wear it with pride, remembering the civilian who took an oath to serve his/her country for our freedom, today.
