Man Sought for Indecent Exposure
A case of indecent exposure has Edgefield County law enforcement as well as North Augusta Public Safety on the lookout for a suspect.
According to a report filed by the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, a woman was getting gas at the Greg’s Gas Plus at the West Martintown Rd. location in North Augusta on Thurs., Apr. 4, when a blue Dodge pick-up truck driven by a white or Hispanic male, pulled along side her. The woman stated the man exposed himself to her and then began to act indecently with himself. The man then drove off on Martintown Rd. toward the direction of Edgefield.
The woman pursued the man, following him down Murrah Rd. and onto Hwy 25 South toward North Augusta. The suspect then got onto Interstate 20 headed toward Augusta, at which point the woman ended the chase. Before giving up her pursuit of the criminal, however, she was able to obtain a GA license plate number from the vehicle.
Deputies with the ECSO were able to obtain footage of the suspect ,both inside and outside the location, from the convenience store. While patrols were made by both the ECSO and NAPS, law enforcement was unable to locate the suspect. This matter has been turned over to the investigative unit of the ECSO.

Two Students Charges with Disturbing Schools at STHS
Possibly Gang Related
Two juvenile black males were arrested in connection with a fight on the grounds of Strom Thurmond High School on Fri., Apr. 5.
According to a report filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s office, the students, ages 15 and 16, began arguing in the commons area before the start of school.
The report states the fight ensued when one boy insulted the other boy’s “set.” One of the suspects claims affiliation with the gang called the Folk and the other with the gang known as the Bloods.
Both students were arrested and charged with disturbing schools. Additionally, a complaint form was forwarded to the Department of Juvenile Justice. No injuries were reported from this incident.

Scrap Metal “Collector” Arrested
The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office has made another arrest in connection with the illegal taking of scrap metal. According to a report filed by the ECSO, on Friday, Mar. 29, deputies were alerted to a black male loading scarp metal into a red Ford truck on Lloyd Rd.
The detailed description of the suspect and vehicle along with a tag number enable authorities to alert Brewer’s Scrap Metal to be on the lookout for the suspect. Brewer’s subsequently notified the ECSO that the suspect was at the scrap yard.
Upon arrival at Brewers, deputies found the truck on the scales waiting to be weighed. When questioned by deputies as to from where he had obtained the scrap metal, the man responded that he took it from “the woods” on Lloyd Rd. The suspect admitted that he did not know the owner of said woods nor did he have permission to be on the property to take the metal.
Deputies arrested the man and charged him with simple larceny. His tuck was towed away.
