This past weekend’s Edgefield Heritage Jubilee offered many things for viewing and experiencing including Civil War re-enactors.  The group gave attendees the opportunity to see a campsite of the Palmetto Riflemen of the Confederate Militia. Oakley Park is a Civil War museum and is a perfect setting for this re-enactment. The gentleman in the blue and red uniform is re-enacting the 17^th New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry regiment which marched through our area during the War, under Sherman’s command.  For more information see rootsweb.ancestry.com
