In scorching heat, Fox Creek held its first home meet in 2 years. The new course is run on trails, gravel, and pavement making for a challenging race. The Predator boys team scored a victory over new Region 3 rival Eau Claire and perennial nemesis Wardlaw Academy. Although Wardlaw’s Hammond Manly easily won the race, setting a standard with the new course record, it was a tightly packed group of Fox Creek runners that sealed the victory for the boys. Led by Moses Talbert (3rd), Nick Ray (5th), and Bryson Reese (7th), the Predators have a deep team. Even without top runners, Sam Smith and Jerod Tew, freshmen Kenneth Miller (10th) and Chase Beagles (15th) stepped up to score for Fox Creek.

Fox Creek was the only team to field a complete girls team (at least 5 runners). Placing for Fox Creek were Grayson Kirkland (4th), Madelyn Ray (6th), Bailey Mares (10th), Jordan Beall (11th), and Madison Mares (12th). Wardlaw Academy’s Hammond Manly conquered the inauguaral run of the Fox Creek Cross Country Course with a time of 18:04 forty seconds ahead of his closest competitor Samuael Alvarado of Eau Claire High School.  All of this was accomplished by Hammond in 90 plus degree heat.  The first to cross the finish line from the host school was Predator Moses Talbert with a time of 21:04.  Strom Thurmond High’s Darren Barnhart finished 6^th with a 23:05.  Nyah Allen, from Strom Thurmond, finished with the best time for females with a 29:53.  Please see complete results below:
