The Edgefield County Schools first day of classes for 2015-2016 will be Tuesday, August 18. August 18 will be a full length school day. Breakfast and lunch will be served. Personnel at the schools and district staff will be on hand to answer questions or handle situations not otherwise planned. The school district encourages anyone with questions or concerns to contact a school or the District Office at 803-275-4601.

School buses will run their usual 140 routes. The transportation office will be available for calls and assistance beginning at 6:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. each school day. The transportation office may be reached at 803-275-1776. If further assistance is required, please contact a school and/or the District Office.

The afterschool program for Douglas Elementary School will not begin until September. The afterschool program for Merriwether Elementary School will begin on August 18 (the first day of school).
