SPARTAN BURG, S.C. – Grace Rauton Taylor, age 97, wife of the late Dr. Dwight L. Taylor, died August 5, 2015 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home. A daughter of the late Mr. & Mrs. Charlie Rauton (Melissa Morris), she was born and grew up in Johnston, SC.
Grace attended Limestone College and was a member of the touring choir. She spent the majority of her adult life in Columbia, SC. She was a longtime member of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and was director of the Columbia Jr. League Daycare for many years where she gained many special friends through the League and loved each and every child as if her own.
Survivors include one son: Dwight Taylor, Jr. (Carol) of Jefferson, NC; two daughters: Dianne Johnson (Ray) of Covington, Virginia and Kathy Hodge (Phil) of Spartanburg; five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at Mt of Olives Cemetery in Johnston on Friday, August 7, 2015 at 11:30 am.
