Possible Vehicle Used in Burglary Caught on Video

The Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence on Thurmond Road in Clarks Hill (Edgefield County), Saturday, July 11, in reference to a burglary. According to an ECSO report, the victim found that his shop located on the property had been entered without forced entry and nearly $4000 worth of tools and miscellaneous items were stolen. A camera set up on the property caught a blue Nissan Xterra leaving the scene of the crime earlier in the day. Additionally, the ECSO collected evidence from the scene, and information that may prove useful to apprehending the suspect was provided as well. The investigation into this crime is continuing.

Man Injured Jumping From Moving Car

An eighteen year old Edgefield County man was injured when he jumped from a moving vehicle Sunday, July 12. According to an Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office report on the incident, the driver of the vehicle stated that the injured man was arguing with another teen in the vehicle prior to jumping from the car. As she turn onto Big Oak Drive from Sweetwater Road, the driver said that the young man jumped out of the car from the rear left passenger’s seat. Other passengers in the vehicle confirmed this statement. Two eyewitnesses driving behind the car at the time of the incident reported seeing the man jump out of the car while it was still in motion and then hitting his back and the back of his head on the ground.

When law enforcement arrived on the scene, they found the man with an injury to his head and lying in the lap of one of the passengers. EMS arrived on the scene and transported the injured man to Georgia Regents University for treatment. There was no indication given as to the extent of the man’s injuries.
