EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Dr. James Lundy Cooper, Sr., 84, of Columbia Rd., husband of Shirley Simmons Cooper, died Sunday June 21, 2015 at University Hospital.

A Memorial Service will be held Wednesday June 24, 2015 at 11 A.M at Edgefield First Baptist Church. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. at the church before the service.

Dr. Cooper was a native of Blackville, S.C. and was a member of Edgefield First Baptist Church. He was a retired Optometrist and the former owner of Family Eye Care. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War and a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, 2 sons- Jimmy (Pam) Cooper, Dean (Rachel) Cooper; 2 daughters- Jeannie (Lou) Facciuolo, Lynn (Tony) Brant; 1 Sister- Jackie Hughes; 15 Grandchildren and 2 Great-Grandchildren.
