March, 24, 2015 – The Edgefield Police Department and the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired at Gary Street Apartments, Monday evening, March 23, around 5:30. When they arrived, they discovered no one had been injured, and the suspect had fled the scene. A gun was recovered nearby that is believed to be the weapon discharged in this incident. It was confiscated as evidence.

According the Police Chief Ronnie Carter, a suspect in this incident has been identified. However, that suspect is still at large. Additionally, Chief Carter said the incident is believed to possibly be gang related.
