Children’s Books Wanted: Edgefield County Public Library is collecting old/used children’s books for a book sale to benefit the Friends of the Library. If cleaning out closets and shelves is on anyone’s New Year’s Resolution list, now is the time to bring book donations – especially children’s books – to the library.
Free Health Screening: Saturday, Jan. 24, from 9-noon at Self Regional Services Center, 104 Wells Ave. and Main, Greenwood; cholesterol, blood pressure and BMI; also activities for children related to the heart and a Valentine-themed craft and a tour of Greenwood EMS ambulance.
Sportsman’s Sunday: Johnston Pentecostal Holiness Church will have “Outdoor Sportsman’s Sunday”, Jan. 25, at 11 a.m. Guest speaker will be Rev. Jerry Garvin. Everyone is encouraged to wear outdoor sportsman’s attire. This will be a great event for the entire family.
Mt. Canaan Worship Service: Mt. Canaan Baptist Church will dedicate its worship service Jan. 25, at 10 a.m. to its pastor, Rev. George L. Brightharp, who has served for 36 years. The message will be delivered by Rev. Reginald Grimes. Sunday School will be held at 9 a.m. Everyone is invited.
