Family Friendly 88.3 WAFJ  is again joining hands with the Shepeard Community Blood Center for the Celebration of Life Blood Drive, This Thursday ,  September  11^th,  2014.

Summer activities are now a fond memory and most of us are looking forward to the many exciting activities of Fall. One thing stays the same no matter what the season. Our blood donations are needed. Especially in our local hospitals.

Augusta, Georgia, September 11, 2014:  Thirty-seven percent of the U.S. population is eligible to donate blood, but only 10% do it.In the CSRA, there is a constant need for blood, especially since our area is home to 17 localhospitals and the Joseph Still Burn Center at Doctors Hospital, one of the premier burn centers in our country. This Thursday, September 11^th from 10am until 6pm, the bloodmobile will be located at Bojangles on Wrightsboro Rd in Grovetown.

Donors may also donate at any Shepeard Blood Center, September 8^th thru 11^th. Every blood donor will be entered into a drawing for a chance to win a gift basket chock full of prizes from 88.3 WAFJ. The first 20 blood donors will also receive free food items from Bojangles. “We’re always excited to offer our station’s resources to  help connect our listeners with this very important cause,” said 88.3 WAFJ Station Manager, Steve Swanson. “You just can’t put a price tag on saving someone’s life.”
