NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – Mr. Raymond F. Salerno, 79, of Silver Maple Drive, husband of Sara Bunch Salerno, entered into rest on Friday, August 8, 2014 at his residence.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church with Dr. Thomas Meador officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Memorial Park with full Military Honors.
Mr. Salerno moved here from Philadelphia in 1999. He was a member of Big Stevens Creek Baptist Church, a former deacon, long time church treasurer, Sunday school teacher, and a member of the choir. He was also a member of the Gideons International, retired as Lt. Col. from the US Army, and retired as the vice president from First Union Bank, which is now Wells Fargo.
Additional survivors include one brother-in-law, Paul Bunch; two nephews, David Bunch of North Augusta, SC, Dr. Christopher Salerno of New Jersey; one niece, Victoria Salerno O’Donnell of New Jersey; and several great nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Johnny Ruffner, Jamie Beasley, Tom Plowden, Ray Brown, Dan Robinson, and Vernon Ball. Honorary pallbearers will be the North Augusta / Edgefield Gideons and the church deacons.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home this evening, Monday, August 11, 2014 from 6 until 8 PM.
