A mother and her daughter each have lynching charges pending as a result of an incident that occurred Friday, April 4, at Pine Ridge Country Club . According to a report filed with the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, the daughter, a 21 year old from Edgefield, attacked a co-worker at the country club while they were having a verbal altercation.
The mother, a 40 year old Edgefield woman and also an employee of the club, entered the argument and attacked the victim as well. As a result of this incident, the mother/daughter pair was fired. However, the incident did not end there. As she was walking to her car after work, the victim was again attacked by the pair.
Responding deputies to the scene found the victim holding a bloody paper towel with strands of hair in it and noted a laceration to the victim’s head. Although the attackers had already left the scene, deputies located them at their residence on Wigfall Street in Edgefield. They provided statements of their accounts of what happened, but those statements were inconsistent with the victim’s and eye witnesses’ accounts.
As a result of this incident, the pair was arrested and transported to the Edgefield County Detention Center. Warrants are being sought against the pair for the charge.
