JOHNSTON, S.C. – Willette Simpkins, 49, of 38 Sherrell Lane, died on January 15, 2014, in the Edgefield County Hospital.
She was born in Edgefield, S.C., daughter of David Simpkins and the late Ella Mae Johnston Simpkins. She was a member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she served as Director of E. Simmons Choir, Kitchen Staff President, Missionary and the Women’s Ministry. She was a 1982 graduate of Strom Thurmond High School and presently attending the university of Phoenix.
She is survived by her father and stepmother, David and Irene Simpkins; three sons, Quantrez Simpkins, Travell Simpkins and Rayshaun Johnston, all of the home; three sisters, Madeline Stallings and Josephine (Anthony) Satterwhite both of North Augusta and Christine (John Anthony) Holman, Denmark, S.C.; nine uncles, eleven aunts; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
Double funeral services of Willette Simpkins and Trina Simpkins Felder will be held Monday at 1:00 p.m. at the Riverside Community Center, Saluda, S.C., on Monday, conducted by Reverend Lewis Burt. Burial will follow in Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. The body will be placed in Riverside Community Center at noon, Monday. Public viewing will be 12:00-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home
