A Testament to the Crowd
According to the Antioch Church ministers, Howle and Jackson, they fed the crowds well, and these numbers speak to the size of the crowd. They were fed: 506 hot dogs, 50 gal. of tea., 400 bags of popcorn, 300 cotton candies, and 550 bags of chips. The large crowd was fed until 7:30 when the food ran out. Only a few missed out (maybe 10). Sorry.
And ECDA, the second organization participating, had this to say: Theresa McMullin, President, wrote: “The Town of Edgefield and the Edgefield Community Development Association (ECDA) was extremely pleased with our Trunk or Treat on the Square Monday evening. There were more than 500 kids dressed in Halloween costumes and at least that many adults escorting them. A huge Thank-You to Antioch Baptist Church for sponsoring the event with free hot dogs, cotton candy, popcorn, and games. Randy Jackson did a fantastic job organizing the event with approximately 20 trunks to treat the kids and included a photo booth and face painting. It was a huge success! Congratulations to The Edgefield General Store for winning the “Best Trunk” award. We promise to do it again in a little over 11 months!”
