This year’s Heritage Jubilee is fast approaching. The co-chairs of the festival, Richard Kelly and Keith Coleman, have organized what sounds like a fun filled day in downtown Edgefield for all ages. The festivities will run from the Town Square all the way to the Piedmont Tech Parking Lot with golf carts available to transport visitors as needed. As is always the case entertainment committee chairman Robert Rodgers brings to town, for your entertainment, a number of music, dance and martial arts performers. The schedule is:

Crafts chairman Sonny Seawright expects a large contingent of vendors to line the streets of the town. If someone would still like to sign up for a space contact Sonny at 803-637-6687. The fees for space rental are $30 for crafts, $60 for food and $15 for information booths.
A full slate of fun activities will be available for the youth in attendance at the festival. Bring the kids for an opportunity to experience rock climbing and outdoor adventure simulators. They can play on the inflatables as well as take a train ride while in town for the Jubilee.
Take a trip down memory lane with Auto Show Chairmen Richard Mabre and Tom Yoder while visiting the Top 35 Classic Car Show or observing historical re-enactments featuring The Military Timeline Impressions and Kitfield Creek Outlaws. Oh yes, don’t forget to help some Edgefield notable get a refreshing bath at Jody Shaffer’s Dunking Booth after collecting your big winnings at Theresa McMullin’s Bingo Parlor.
For history buffs there will be demonstrations by the Military Timeline Impressions, a group that will be showing military wares in the area of the Discovery Center. Also expect “shootouts” planned by Kitfield Creek Outlaws, another group focused on historic shootouts, something the Edgefield Square has been known for in the historic past.
Come on in to town Saturday the 24th of September and take a dose of Good Old Days Elixir! You will be glad you did!
