EDGEFIELD – Clarence W. Wilson, Jr., 78, of Edgefield, died February 26, 2016 surrounded by his family.
Born June 20, 1937, he was one of 11 children born to the late Clarence W. Wilson, Sr. and Nancy Alberta Easler Wilson.
At the young age of 17, he joined the Navy and served his country proudly until he was honorably discharged at the age of 21. He later went on to work as an iron worker, and was a member of Iron Workers Local # 709 in Augusta, GA and Local #413 in Charlotte, NC. He went on to work as a truck driver, working for Landstar. He also was a longtime member of Ridgeview Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lea Hood Keenan.
He will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Teresa Michelle Wilson Moore (Jimmy) and his step-daughter, Joan Lucas (Mike); his brothers, Sammy Wilson (Sarah), Jimmy Wilson (Jan) and Lonnie Wilson (Livvie); his sisters, Jeanette Bryan, Nellie Ouzts, Becky Pugh (Larry), Doris Bryan (Arnold), Gloria Deese (Bobby) and Debbie Adams (Richard); his grandchildren, Taylor (Jessica), Conlee, Evan (Becky), Mallory and Ami; and his special friend, Virginia Wyatt. The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 1, from 2-3PM at Hatcher Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3:30PM at Pineview Memorial Park, with Pastor Glenn officiating. Memorial contributions may be made in Clarence’s memory to the charity of one’s choice.
