A Trenton woman has her dog to thank for thwarting a criminal act at her residence on Tuesday, Dec. 8. According to an Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office report on the incident, the woman reported that she was inside her Watson Road home around nine in the morning when she heard someone breaking glass. The woman told law enforcement that she went to the hallway of her home and observed an unknown subject entering the doorway of her residence. However, the victim reported that the suspect never fully entered the home as her dog started to bite him. When the dog attempted to bite the suspect, the man struck the dog and then fled the scene.
The victim stated that she did not recognize the suspect. However, she described him as being a black male wearing a blue hoodie and blue jeans.
The ECSO processed the scene for evidence and is continuing to investigate this incident.
