EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mr. Gerald R. Taylor, Jr., widow of Marion T. Taylor, entered into rest on November 8, 2015, at Trinity Mission Health & Rehab of Edgefield surrounded by family members.
Mr. Taylor was born November 15, 1930 in Norwalk, C.T., son of Gerald R. Taylor, Sr., and Helen MacLaren.
Mr. Taylor was a native of Connecticut but moved to Edgefield in 2013 to live with his daughter, Kate Lowish and her husband Bill.
After serving in the Navy he graduated from Hobart College in Geneva, N.Y. in 1955. He worked many years in the finance industry in Philadelphia, PA, Boston & Hyannis, MA, and most recently in Trumbull, CT as Vice President of Finance for the Howe Furniture Corporation.
He was an avid tennis player and walker, and enjoyed working outside in the yard and in his garden with his beloved tractor and spending time with family and friends.
Mr. Taylor was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Marion Taft Taylor, his parents Gerald R. Taylor, Sr. and his mother Helen MacLaren Taylor, and is survived by his 3 children, Gerald R. Taylor, III (Pam), Kate Lowish (Bill), and Wendy Harris (Troy) and 6 grandchildren Gerald R. Taylor IV, Courtney Taylor, Kathryn Crane, William Crane, Hannah Harris and Jonathan Harris Jeffcoat, as well as his siblings Mrs. Jeanne Harrington and Joseph Robert Taylor (Ellie).
A memorial service will be held in Edgefield at the family home Saturday afternoon and a graveside service will be held at The First Congregational Church of Madison in Madison, C.T. at dates not yet specified.
