NINETY SIX, S.C. – Dixon Butler Bryan, Sr., 70, husband of Dianne Leagan Bryan, died Friday, September 25, 2015 at his home, surrounded by family and friends.
Born in Edgefield, he was a son of the late Ernest Rhett and Martha Dixon Bryan. He was a member of Ninety Six First Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife of the home; four children, Dickey Bryan (Sally) Greenwood, Deidra Collins (Jim Beasley) of Kirksey, Lee Fuller (Kory Place) of Michigan, and Daniel Spivey (Sonya) of NC; mother-in-law, Nancy Leagan of Ninety Six; a brother, Ernest “Bubba” Bryan (Penny) of Edgefield; eight grandchildren, Peyton and Tyler Bryan, Laken and Drayton Collins, Cady Collins, Jerrid Fuller, Miles Spivey, and Jonathan Spivey. He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Louise Mitchell.
Services were held at 3 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum with the Rev. Chuck Sprouse and Rev. Brantley Bryan officiating. Entombment was at Greenwood Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Honorary escort were Steve Dove, Danny Balentine, Bob Clinkscales, and Stephen Collins. The family received friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the mausoleum.
