JOHNSTON, S.C. – Funeral Services for Mrs. Ruth Morris Clark, age 88, will be held Sunday, January 25, 2015 at 3 o’clock at Bland Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in Mt of Olives Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 – 3 pm prior to the service.

Mrs. Clark, widow of the late James Arthur (Jock) Clark, died Thursday, January 22, 2015. She was a daughter of the late George Edward and Mattie Rhoden Morris. A former cashier at her hometown grocery, Johnston, for more than thirty years, she loved yard work and flowers, especially her daylilies.

Ruth was the family’s steady voice of reason and gave bookend-like balance to her younger sister and dearest friend, Ruby Trotter, who passed away just ten months ago. She was a devoted member of Dry Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include a number of nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by seven brothers and three sisters.
