NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. – Mr. Melvin L. Butler, 65, of Audubon Circle, entered into rest December 2, 2014. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 6, at Jeter Baptist Church with the Rev. James E. Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Butler, a native of Edgefield County, was a member of Jeter Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran.

Survivors include his wife, Grace Gilchrist Butler; two sons, Phillip T. Butler and Melvin A. Butler; a sister, Addie (Johnny) Thomas; two brothers, Albert Butler and Bennie (Maebell) Butler; a host of other relatives and friends.
