AIKEN, S.C. – Louise B. Callas, 90, entered into rest Wednesday, December 24, 2014.
Born December 31, 1923 in Madison Country, Georgia, she was a daughter of the late Toombs and Leila McCollum Berryman. In 1960, Mrs. Callas and her family moved to Aiken, SC from Anderson, SC due to Alex her husband’s new employment with Owen’s Corning. Mrs. Callas worked for Rose’s here in Aiken for thirteen years. She was honored in 1984 in Charlotte, NC as Regional Employee of the Year for Rose’s Store, Inc. Mrs. Callas has been a member of Couchton Baptist Church since 1964. She was a generous and loving person who loved her family and LORD. She was devoted to her family and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Callas was preceded in death by her husband, Alexander E. Callas, Sr.; and a great-grandson. She had two brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include two daughters, Diane (Charles) Yonce, Johnston, SC and Alexis (Larry) Keith, Aiken, SC; a son, Alex E. Callas, Jr., Montmorenci, SC; seven grandchildren, Jeff (Jenny) Yonce, Stephanie Callas, John (Janna) Yonce, Ashley (Will) Christman, Natalie (Chris) Metts, Aimee’ (Matt) Carter, and Matthew Callas; and numerous nieces and nephews including, Frank (Bessie) Clark.
Funeral Services will were held at 3 o’clock Saturday, December 27, 2014 in the George Funeral Chapel. The Rev. Mayhew West officiating. Entombment in the Aiken Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Matt Carter, Jeff Yonce, John Yonce, Chris Metts, Will Christman, and Calvin Derrick.
The family received friends beginning Saturday, December 27 at 2 PM at George’s Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank her caregivers, Shadow Oaks Assisted Living, and the Edgefield Co. Hospital for the excellent care and love provided to Mrs. Callas.
