Nathaniel Jones, 62, of Trenton, was struck and killed by a vehicle around 6:50 Sunday evening on Hwy 19 in Aiken County.

According to preliminary investigations by the Aiken County Coroner’s Office and the SC Highway Patrol, Jones was walking in the roadway on Hwy 19 North when he was struck by a 2004 Chevy Impala driven by a Johnston, SC, man who was driving south on Hwy 19. According to witnesses at the scene, this was not the first time Jones has been struck while walking down the road.

An autopsy is scheduled on Jones’ body for Tuesday in Newberry.
