• Johnston Development Corporation donates 3 sets of banners
The Johnston Development Corporation (JDC) has donated three sets of banners for downtown Johnston, one set for the fall, one set for the spring, and one set for patriotic holidays.
The JDC has now donated five sets of banners to the down over the past three years, along with other gifts to the town, including benches and a Christmas tree.
The funds to buy the custom-made banners come from proceeds from the Peach Blossom Festival, which is sponsored by the JDC.
The banners hang on the traffic signal poles next to the Garden Center and in front of Maxwell and Halford drugstore, right in the heart of the town.
The Johnston Development Corporation, a non-profit volunteer organization that has helped the Town of Johnston grow in many ways for over 25 years, works to aid the community in areas such as economic development, education, recreation, historic preservation, tourism, scientific and cultural opportunities, and continued promotion of Johnston.
