GREENWOOD, S.C. – Thelma Gilchrist Boozer, 93, resident of Ninety Six Highway, widow of G. Frank Boozer, died Monday, September 22, 2014 at Self Regional Medical Center.
Born in McCormick County, August 1, 1921, she was a daughter of the late Tandy B. and Lena Miller Gilchrist. Mrs. Boozer was a 1939 graduate of Edgefield High School and retired from Parke-Davis Co., Greenwood Plant. She was a member of New Marker Baptist Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Sarah Boozer Catoe and husband Mike of Aiken and a son, Lieutenant Commander George D. Boozer, Retired US Navy, and wife Cindy of Lexington; a grandson, Jason D. Boozer and wife Dana of Lexington and three great-grandsons, Andrew, Joshua and Matthew Boozer; a brother, David Gilchrist of Greenwood and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 3:00 PM from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Stanley Sprouse officiating.
Burial will be in Greenwood Memorial Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Gill Samson, Darrell Gorman, Royce Kidd, Jack Reed, Jason Boozer, Marion Gilchrist, James Gilchrist and Hunter Kidd.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 to 3:00 Friday afternoon.
