JOHNSTON, S.C. – Mr. Richard Clark Turner, 91, son of Ben and Mamie Turner, passed away peacefully at his home Sunday June 15, 2014 surrounded by his wife and family after a brief battle with lung cancer.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday June 18, 2014 at 5:30 P.M. at Johnston First Baptist Church. A Private burial will be held at a later date.
Mr. Turner was born in Saluda County and was a member of Johnston First Baptist Church and the Jack Reeves Fellowship Class. He was a Veteran of WW II having served in Germany. Before retiring in 1993 he had worked for Milliken, V.E. Edwards Hardware, and Yonce Farms. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and gardening in his spare time. He also enjoyed Saturday Morning breakfasts at the PK with friends.
Survivors include his wife of 65 years Cleo Asbill Turner; daughters- Linda (Simon) Gibson, and Debra Link; grandchildren- Angie Gibson, Christopher Link, Daniel (Angela) Gibson; Great-Grandchildren- Jordan, Lacie, Noah, and Hunter; and 1 Sister- Miriam T. Rushton. He was predeceased by his parents, 4 Sisters, and 3 Brothers.
The family wishes to thank his nurse Cindy Bryan and Ark Hospice, Dr. George Rainsford, Lacey Corley, and special Caregivers Liz Washington, Katrina Devlin, and Catherine Fielder.

The family is at the home and will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 7 P.M. at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
