The Edgefield County Alliance will hold its next meeting – Tuesday, June 17th at 8:00 am on the Edgefield County Council Building which is located at 225 Jeter Street (behind the court house, on the corner of Jeter and Railroad). Our speaker will be Jeff Magniez with the US Forest Service.
Edgefield County is privileged to count among our many assets the Sumter National Forest which contains a large portion of our County. Mr. Magniez will present, “Recreational Opportunities and Wildlife Management on the Sumter National Forest.” This will give us an opportunity to learn about our forest, what is there and where we may find other possibilities.
Mr. Magniez has been with the US Forest Service for 18 years, working in California, Mississippi, Georgia, North Carolina, and finally in South Carolina. Jeff is the Wildlife Biologist for the Sumter National Forest. He is stationed in Edgefield but has responsibilities on all three ranger districts in the upstate. Jeff lives in Aiken with his wife and two boys.
The Alliance is open to the public and everyone is invited to attend. Coffee and light refreshments will be served. If you have questions, want further information or want to present at a future meeting, please contact Linda Anderson e-mail johnnyfanderson@bellsouth.net or phone (803)279-4138.
