EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mr. Jackie Laverne Ouzts, 67, of Plum Branch Rd., passed away Saturday May 17, 2014 at Doctor’s Hospital.
Graveside Services will be held Tuesday May 20, 2014 at 1 P.M. at Sunset Gardens Memorial Park in Edgefield.
Mr. Ouzts was a lifelong resident of Edgefield and was the son of Mrs. Lucille Reynolds Ouzts and the late Jack Ouzts. He was retired from Amoco Oil Co. and Pope Transport. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Mr. Ouzts had a lifelong love of sports and this was evident through his years of coaching Little League Baseball, the women’s softball team at First Baptist Church, and going to Clemson football games. His Greatest Loves however were his Grandchildren and his dog, Oz.
Survivors include his mother, 2 Daughters- Michelle (Ryan) Orr, Nikki Tate; 3 Grandchildren- Lillian, Benton, and Amelia Orr; 1 Sister- Dianne (Dennis) Wall; Great-Nephews- Cody, Hunter, and Jake Borden. Mr. Ouzts was predeceased by his father Jack and a nephew Dennis Borden.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Strom Thurmond HIgh School Class of 1966.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday at Edgefield Mercantile Funeral Home.
