A home on West Martintown Road was burglarized sometime Monday, March 24, according to a report filed by the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies with the ECSO responded to the home around 6:00 Monday evening after the homeowner notified law enforcement that he had returned home to find his front door had been kicked in. Once inside the home, the homeowner found the glass door to his gun cabinet had been broken. It was determined that a total of 6 guns as well as an 18 inch safe, a jewelry box containing a necklace/pendent set, and $1100 in cash were stolen. In all, the estimated worth of the stolen items was listed as $2,600 and damage costs were estimated to be $200. An investigator was on hand to process the scene, and the ECSO is actively investigating this crime.
