RIDGE SPRING, S.C. – Service for Betty T. Havird, 74, will be conducted 3:00 p.m., Thursday, September 5, at West Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Hank Fanning and the Rev. Robert Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow in Ridge Crest Memorial Park.
Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Thomas, Michael Havird, Eddie Havird, Billy Havird, Wayne Grice, Carey Bedenbaugh, Todd Bedenbaugh, Russell Fox, and Frank Fox. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Sunshine Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel.

Mrs. Havird passed away Monday, September 2, 2013. Born in Edgefield Co., she was a daughter of the late Belton Marsh and Lena Creed Thomas. She was a member of West Creek Baptist Church, WMU, Saluda County Farm Bureau, and retired from Ridge Spring-Monetta Elementary/Middle Schools with 29 years of service as a Teacher’s Aide. “Miss Betty” was a devoted farm wife, loving mother, and “Meme” was always supportive of her grandchildren, a wonderful friend and neighbor.
Surviving are her husband, Don Havird; son, Marty (Retta) Havird of Ridge Spring; daughter, Sheila (Mickey) Matthews of Ridge Spring; grandchildren, Bethany Matthews, Haley Havird, Braxton Matthews and Morgan Havird; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers, Melvin, Dewey, B.M. and James Thomas, and a sister, Vera Holmes.
