The Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum will celebrate three years with a birthday celebration on Saturday, September 21st. The party will be held from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. The public is invited to attend.
Cake and ice cream will be served! In addition, balloons will be given out to the children in attendance. Aiken’s volunteer train conductor will be on hand to greet guests. And, there will be sidewalk chalk fun outside the building along with other party activities.
Elizabeth Harm, Tourism Supervisor for the City of Aiken, stated, “This is a birthday party you won’t want to miss. We’re celebrating a very successful three years of serving Aiken’s visitors!”
The Aiken Visitors Center and Train Museum opened in September of 2010 after being rebuilt using the original plans at the original setting on Union Street. The first level houses the Aiken Visitors Center and a railroad themed gift shop. The second level is home to the Train Museum where dioramas and interactive displays educate and entertain visitors on the rich railroad history of Aiken. The facility is available for rent for special occasions.
