EDGEFIELD, S.C. – Mr. David P. King, 29, husband to Mrs. Tara Goodwin King, entered into Heaven on Wednesday, August 14th, 2013.
He was a loving daddy, husband, son and grandson.
David was preceded in death by his grandfather, Clyde A. Rutland. Surviving is his wife, Tara Goodwin King, Edgefield, SC; two daughters, Kinley and Kaylin, of Edgefield, SC; his parents, Mark and Crystal King, Edgefield, SC; his paternal grandparents, Kenneth and Linda King, Langley, SC; his maternal grandmother, Ina Starr Rutland, North Augusta, SC; his great- great aunt, Edna Bomar, Langley, SC and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
David was born in Augusta, GA. He was a member of Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church where he was an altar and sound booth worker and he drove the church van. He loved the outdoors especially fishing. He was an outgoing person who ‘never met a stranger’. He loved everyone especially God, his family, friends and church. David touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all.
A Celebration of Life Service will be on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church with Revs. Todd Blackwell and Wesley Green officiating. Interment will follow in Langley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Marcus Bennett, Nathan Fields, Scott Davis, James Underwood, Grady Scott and Benny Davis.

Friends may call at the residence of Bill and Glenda Goodwin, 1054 Lake Greenwood Drive, North Augusta and the residence of his grandmother, Starr Rutland, 309 Morgan Avenue, North Augusta. The family will greet friends at the Gloverville Pentecostal Holiness Church this evening from 6 until 8.
