– A Very Important Invitation From The American Legion Auxiliary –
Are you a wife, mother, daughter, sister, granddaughter or a great-granddaughter of a Legionnaire or a deceased veteran? If so, then you are “WANTED.”
On behalf of the Hezzie Griffis Post #30 of the American Legion Auxiliary, we are inviting you to join the largest patriotic organization that is chartered to assist the veterans and their families.
The American Legion Auxiliary gives each of us an opportunity to get involved in things that matter, at our own schedule, at our own pace and at our own comfort.
We share in various projects throughout the year. Last year we helped with the meal for the Wounded Warriors, gave Christmas Care packages for the families of wounded servicemen while they stayed at The Fisher House, raised funds that help the veterans and their families through bake sales and other projects. We secure and sponsor the girls who attend Girl’s State during the summer and promote Americanism Essays that are written by students from each school in the county.
You might think that you don’t have any more time your schedule to do something else. Even if you can’t attend each meeting or help with each project, just remember that joining the Auxiliary and helping in any way, this can be a small way to say “thank you” to your loved one who has served or is serving.
To receive an application or to learn more about the Auxiliary call Fay Vaughan at the Veterans Affairs office at 637-4012 or Joanne Painter at 637-3295. Please leave a message and phone number if no one is available when you call.
Thank you!
