LANGLEY, S.C. – Mr. Pierce Michael “Mike” Turner, 69, of Langley, beloved husband of 18 years to Mrs. Tonya Broome Turner, entered into rest on Tuesday, June 11, 2013.
Born in Edgefield County and a resident of Aiken County for the past 18 years, he was a son of the late Pierce “Babe” and Elizabeth “Diddy” Arthur Turner. He had been in maintenance at Graniteville Company for twenty-two years and retired from R.E. Phelon after ten years of service. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Burnettown. Mike enjoyed fishing, camping and metal detecting. He also had a passion for CB radios and was a member of the Channel 31 CB Club.
In addition to his wife and parents, family members include his children, Beverly (Randy) Bryan, Saluda, SC, Monroe (Lisa) Turner, Edgefield, SC, and Sheila Hall, Johnston, SC, step-children, Bobbi Broome and Sharon Usry, both of Langley, SC; siblings, Glenn (Sheryl) Turner, Edgefield, SC, Chris (Cherrill) Turner, Edgefield, SC, Vickie (Danny) Riley, Edgefield, SC, Beth (Jimmy) McCary, Edgefield, SC and the late Terri Godfrey (Gregg Godfrey and fiancé’ Elaine Watson) Montmorenci, SC; grandchildren, Andy Bryan, Rhonda Bryan, Courtney Trotter, Jazzmine Mickens and Jayda Broome and four great-grandchildren. Also preceding him in death were grandchildren, Fred Bryan and Amanda Turner.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Thursday, June 13, at 11 o’clock in the chapel with Pastor Phillip Howle and Pastor Steve Chrisco officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Dan Riley, Steven Turner, Shane Bryan, Alan Turner, Andy Bryan and Brett Godfrey.
