LAKE CITY, S.C. – Mrs. Johnsie Wilkerson Moore, 92, passed away peacefully Saturday, March 9, 2013, in McLeod Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Moore was born in Hickory Grove, South Carolina on August 25, 1920. She was a daughter of the late John Smith Wilkerson and the late Elma Merritt Wilkerson, and was the widow of the late J. Lincoln Moore.
Mrs. Moore was a long-time member of Lake City United Methodist Church and was a retired school teacher. She dedicated her entire life to helping others.
Mrs. Moore’s surviving family includes her two sisters, Dorothy W. Pearce of Hickory Grove, and Ruth W. Perry, of Lancaster, her two brothers, Frank Merritt Wilkerson (Terry Jane), of Rock Hill, and John Smith Wilkerson (Sandee), of Lake Wylie; and numerous DEVOTED nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Moore is preceded in death by her two sisters, Nanelle W. Castles, and Carmen W. Anderson; and her brother, William Smith Wilkerson.
Funeral services for Mrs. Moore were held at 2 p.m., Monday, March 11, in the Lake City United Methodist Church. Burial was privately held.
