SALUDA, S.C. – Mrs. Edna Lucille Temple Gilmer, 93, formerly of Saluda, SC entered the Church Triumphant on Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Rosecrest Retirement Community. Mrs. Gilmer was the widow of the late Bryce V. Gilmer and the daughter of the late Jesse Temple and Myrtie Temple Powell and step-daughter of the late W. W. Powell. She operated Edna’s Variety Store and was a beef cattle farmer for many years. She was a member of Bethlehem United Methodist Church.
Mrs. Gilmer is survived by her son, Ronald (Ron) and wife, Kay of Brevard, NC; two grandsons; The Reverend Dr. Ron Gilmer of Marietta, GA and the Reverend Scott S. Gilmer of Boiling Springs, SC; one great-granddaughter; Lydia Gilmer of Marietta, GA; one brother; J. L. Temple and wife, Mary Alice of Saluda, SC, one sister-in-law; Lucretia Gilmer of Bristol, VA and several loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Mrs. Gilmer will be Monday, February 18 at 2 pm at Bethlehem United Methodist Church with the Reverend Dr. Ron Gilmer and the Reverend Scott S. Gilmer officiating. Committal will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will take place immediately following the committal in the church social hall.

The family is at their respective homes. They would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff and nursing staff of Rosecrest and Lutheran Hospice along with special friends for their devoted acts of service the past 12 months.
