Edgefield County Youth Empowerment Center hosted their 1st Community Family Night. Family is a miniature replica of the society in itself, says, CEO, Marcella Edwards. “A close family bond is like a safe harbor where our youth find refuge.” We are making every effort to create activities and events to preserve the bond of unity among families. The purpose of our Community Family Night activity is to encourage family “togetherness” and give family members the chance to engage in fun activities together. “I believe strong families build strong communities,” says Edwards.Strong family bonds help our youth to thrive in all aspects of life. “I feel it is very important to have functions like this for the community. We are excited about the up and coming family events we’ve lined up and the passion of putting them together.”
The event included food, fun and fellowship. Among the attendees were local Pastors, Town Councilman and Edgefield County Sheriff, Adell Dobey. The event was held at Johnston Learning Center.
