Mount Canaan Baptist Church celebrated its annual Women’s Day Program, Sunday, October 28. The theme was “Women Becoming Vessels of Honor.” Sis. Doris D. Blalock served as Mistress of Ceremonies. The speaker, Rev. Loraine Dee Ryan, was introduced by Rev. Dr. Sallie B.Cooks.
Rev. G. L. Brightharp, pastor, presented the Woman of the Year who was none other than Mrs. Annie Ruth Williams, a very beautiful person. Mrs. Williams is the wife of Mr. Henry Williams, Jr., mother of four lovely daughters: Kendra,Tyra, Shannan and Watoma. All four daughters are married and have families of their own. Mrs. Williams serves as a Deaconess at the church and, in addition to other many “hats” that she wears, she works at Second Baptist Christian School in Aiken as 5-K and 1st Grade instructor. Congratulations to Mrs. Annie Ruth Williams!
