In observance of National Violence Prevention Month, Trinity Community Church will hold its 1st Annual Stop the Violence Rally at Trinity Church located at 403 Mims Street, Edgefield, South Carolina. This event will take place on Saturday, October 6, 2012 at 10:00 am. There will be several speakers to include Ms. Carolyn Bates. Ms. Bates’ son Larry Donnell Sanders, Jr., was murdered two years ago and no arrests have been made in connection to this case.
Ms. Bates is launching The Larry Donnell Sanders, Jr. Support Group for mothers and others who have experienced a loss due to violence. The mission of the support group is to create a network for people that are progressing through the stages of grief from the loss of a loved one. Additional information about the support group will be distributed during the rally.
Immediately following the rally there will be a candle light vigil to raise awareness about the Sanders case. Larry Donnell Sanders, Jr. would have been 31 years of age on October 1st.
