Charity Plunkett, 91, died Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at Saluda Nursing Center.

Born in Saluda County, she was a daughter of the late Gilson Yarborough Plunkett and Mary Herlong Plunkett. Ms. Plunkett was a retired Lunch Room Manager with Saluda High School and was a lifetime member of Zoar United Methodist Church.

She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

A brother, Gilson Plunkett and three sisters, Edith Begemann, Elizabeth Rankin and Frances Lester preceded her in death.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2012 at Zoar United Methodist Church with Rev. Michael Written officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
